I decided not to make the title of this set have anything to do with haiku. There is a good chance that I will add poems that fall into traditional Japanese categories. I wanted also to feel like I could add a few that fell outside of those boundaries. I hope that you enjoy these small poems - whether your tastes fall to modern haiku, or you don't even know the difference and just want to enjoy a poem that can be read in three seconds.

1 & 2 - Both are a tiny bit of social commentary I guess. Also I considered writing both/either as a six word story, but I don't write in that format. Feel free to take either that way if you choose.

1 - something I saw as a young child. I didn't understand then, but it is never too late to be ashamed of something like that.

2 - This piece is a six word satire, and has nothing to do with the piece before it. Nearly every "six word story" on dA has a longer-than-six-word author's explanation (I mean comment). Doesn't that defeat the purpose? I guess this one is no exception now.

8- This piece is now part of a renga (linked haiku) collaboration, found here: [link]

12- A tribute to `LadyLincoln. Lots of :hug:s.

13 - In linguistics we often describe sounds that are foreign to us. In this case I saw sounds in my textbook that I had difficulty imagining.

14 - Based on a true story. I was... floored to say the least.

I think #14 deserves a full explanation. :D
